About Me

I am a first-generation Ghanaian-American graduate candidate pursuing a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) in Technical Entrepreneurship from Lehigh University. Spending many of my summers abroad in Africa, I used my time researching digital technology developments such as mobile payment systems and telecommunication infrastructures in Ghana and Kenya. During my academic adventure, I found the qualitative experiences interviewing government ministers, and c-suite executives were equally important to the technical discoveries I found.

I am a problem-solver who loves finding intricate solutions to challenging problems. I not only look forward to creating success stories utilizing my skill set, I thrive on my ability to create value for a business.

P. C. Rossin College of Engineering and Applied Science

Master of Engineering in Technical Entreprenuership May 2019

Lehigh's one-year, 30-credit professional master's program in Technical Entrepreneurship helps student entrepreneurs create, refine, and commercialize intellectual property through the licensing or launching of a new business. Students in the program learn by experiencing the idea-to-venture process in an educational environment that's hard-wired to support the development of novel, innovative, and commercially viable technologies.

GhanaMade is a digital media platform dedicated to Ghanaian and African culture, music, and society. Founded to celebrate and connect Ghanaians at home and abroad, it shows the vibrant culture of Ghana beyond the nation’s borders. Its mission is a response to the existing void where Ghanaians in the diaspora are in search of a digital means of connecting back to the Homeland.

The platform expanded on to several social media channels and has reached thousands of people around the world. The platform owes much of its successes to its organic growth and piquing the interest of our most engaged audiences through the display of culture, music, and art.

Digitizing Africa

Undergraduate Researcher

The Digitizing Africa Project

Office of Interdisciplinary Programs October 2014 - August 2017

Conducted a multi-disciplinary research in the Republic of Ghana and the Republic of Kenya. The goal of my research was to find viable avenues to improve the efficiency of digital technology for communication and business application on the continent of Africa. I distributed surveys to locals from which I compiled penetration and exposure rates to mobile devices. In addition, I interviewed several government ministers, academics, and business professionals.

From the data and discussions collected, I was able to partner with the National Society of Black Engineers - Ghana, and present my findings at a number of institutions.

Lehigh NSF-REU

Summer Research Intern

NSF-REU: SmartSpaces Project

Department of Computer Science June 2014 - August 2014

I was a member of a team of 11 engineering students in a federally funded National Science Foundation REU project for 3 months. We were tasked to build a "smart" home environment. My specific contribution to the team's efforts was making the capability of the system to send commands over RF transmission with the use of a Rasberry Pi and Arduino micro-controller. Through this experience, I was introduced to Python, and C#.

Overall the project was geared towards the Android market, which gave us access to open-sourced frameworks and libraries. The only drawback from this experience was the fact Apple came out with their smart home suite of apps and devices only a week into our project's timeline. This significantly took away from team morale to go further with the project after our mandated term.

Through the past couple of years I have gained competencies in different languages, softwares, and design tools. I developed my competencies through coursework, research projects, and personal pursuits.
